What is a service?

It’s a routine inspection that evaluates the overall condition of your car.

How often should you service your car?

Service interval details will be outlined in your CUPRA’s handbook but it’s generally recommended that interim services occur every six months (or 6,000 miles).

What does a car service include?

An interim service includes a visual assessment of your CUPRA’s body, wheels and suspension, among other things – and manual checks of lights, tyres, exhausts, oil and fluid levels, etc.

What is checked on a MOT?

Dozens of things are checked, including fuel and braking systems, lights, mirrors, wipers and seatbelts.

What is a MOT?

It’s an annual inspection that assesses whether or not your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards.

What does a full service include?

A full service takes longer because it goes into more detail, including such things as an inspection of your car’s alternator hose and vacuum hose, and the removal and rotation of wheels.

Do I need to bring anything for my car’s MOT?

A valid MOT certificate indicates that your car is roadworthy – if it fails its MOT, it’s because it’s considered to be a danger to you, your fellow passengers and other road users.

What happens if my car fails an MOT?

You’ll be given a notification of refusal – and provided with reasons for the failure, which will need to be rectified before a re-test is taken.

Can you fail a service?

No, but the accompanying report will identify issues that might prevent it from passing its MOT.
